Dr. Nabil Wisa spent the majority of his childhood exploring the great outdoors, surrounded by animals of all sorts. It didn’t take long for him to begin developing interests in science and medicine. For Dr. Wisa, a career in the veterinary world simply felt natural!

Dr. Wisa earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1993, then practiced in Canada and Florida before relocating to California. He has worked in multiple practices throughout Orange County and Los Angeles, both as a permanent and relief veterinarian. Dr. Wisa is a certified member of the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society and the International Association of Veterinary Chiropractitioners, and is also a proud member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the California Veterinary Medical Association, and the Southern California Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Wisa took ownership of East West Veterinary Clinic in 2013, and has special interests in surgery, geriatric medicine, and complementary and alternative therapies. One of Dr. Wisa’s favorite parts of his job is integrating Western and Eastern modalities into his brand of veterinary care—he feels incredibly fortunate to provide care for patients that may benefit from this integrative approach. Most of all, Dr. Wisa loves meeting pet owners and getting to know their loveable animal companions!

Outside of his interests in veterinary medicine, Dr. Wisa enjoys running, hiking, fishing, reading, and traveling.

Jose was born and raised in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, where he was surrounded by roosters, chickens, goats, lambs, horses, and ducks while growing up. It wasn’t hard for him to develop a passion for animal care!

At the age of 14, Jose began volunteering in his local animal hospital—his love for veterinary medicine only grew from there. He worked as a Sales Representative Supervisor at Purina for two years before joining the team at another local pet hospital. In 2001, Jose moved to California and started working in a number of different animal clinics in the state.Jose has worked with many species of animals here in California, from large to small, and has experience in various areas of the veterinary industry. In 2013, he was thrilled to pass the California Veterinary Medical Board test and is looking forward to completing the requirements for becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician soon.
